You have been asking us how to wash your hair extensions and what products we recommend. Well, we have heard your cry and we now have all your answers for you.

We have a solution that would help solve all these issues without spending a lot of time on your hair extensions. This is the 2-in-1 method. Research shows that most moisturizing and conditioning shampoos use the 2-in-1 technology, although, its not always mentioned. The truth of the matter is that, these products actually work and they work very well.

NO MORE STICKY AND SMELLY WIGS!!!

We recommend that you wash your hair extensions at least once a week to avoid residues being left in your hair, resulting in sticky and smelly wigs. Yeah! Not nice right? We know! We've been there before and that's why we are here to help.

Residue or build-ups from conditioning products are the reason your hair extensions are tatty, tangles and doesn’t look fresh like the adjacent image. Using the wrong products are also factors that can contribute to residue build ups in your hair extensions. You cannot use hair products that have been specialized for Afro-Caribbean hair into your Luxury hair extensions. Below are reasons why you cannot use certain products on your luxury hair extensions.

WHAT IS A HAIR CUTICLE?

Firstly, its important you know what cuticles are before we explain as further down, its mentioned a lot and may confuse you if you do not know what cuticles are. So what is it? The hair cuticle is the outer layer of the hair strand/ shaft. It is formed from dead cells, overlapping in layers, which form scales that strengthen and protect the hair strand/shaft. FYI, the cuticle isn't responsible for the colour on your hair; though it needs to open to allow colour molecules to penetrate through.

THE STRUCTURE OF AFRO-CARIBBEAN CUTICLE

The hair strand of an Afro-Caribbean hair is flat with a twisted structure and a thin diameter. Afro-Caribbean hair is very vulnerable and can easily damage due to its unique structure (High porosity) and specific processing, styling and grooming needs. This is because its cuticle is raised, making it porous. There are 2 sides to to this; it has the ability to absorb a lot of moisture yet at the same time, it is difficult to retain its moisture. Afro-Caribbean hair requires special care and use of specifically-formulated products with water and oil based products using the LCO/LOC method in order to look, feel and keep in its moisture. If it lacks or loses its moisture, it will lead to breakage.

THE STRUCTURE OF CAUCASIAN AND ASIAN CUTICLE

Caucasian and Asian hair have the opposite of Afro-Caribbean hair. Caucasians and Asians have a more flatter and closed cuticle making the hair more shinier. This is the reason why Caucasian and Asian hair shine more and tends to stay moisturized for longer without having to over moisturize the hair.

Now you see why its very important to ensure you use the appropriate hair shampoos and conditioners in your hair extensions. Above are reasons why most of the Afro-Caribbean hair products contain lots and lots of oils and can cause your Hair Extensions to tangle and frizz.

Let’s leave all that sticky, tangled, frizzy and oily hair in 2020. 2021 is all about self-care. We believe that your hair extensions should be included in your self-care regime.

PALMOLIVE NATURALS HYDRA BALANCE shampoo 2-in-1

We advice you use appropriately formulated products such as Palmolive Naturals hydra balance 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner .

This product is truly amazing. No need to worry about residues being left in your hair. You hair is left feeling free and shiny without any oils.

HOW TO USE

Its so easy to use. Gently apply your product in a downward motion, working from the bottom up. Do not directly apply a huge amount of product in your lace, you will struggle to get rid of the products when you rinse.

Rinse thoroughly using warm water until you see no bubbles or lather.

Leave your hair extensions to air dry or blow dry and style as preferred.
